- Chapter 69 - Training
We were told that if we entered the dungeon at the same time, we would interfere with each other’s battle, so we decided to enter the dungeon at different times.
“You can go in first. It’s just a small handicap.”
Sanchez told me, so I took his words with gratitude.
So, we passed through the dungeon entrance.
“Gamizin, you can’t do this. Gamizin, no. You have to be quiet.”
Barbados is coaxing Gamizin to be quiet.
When I looked at him, Gamizin roared, “Grrrr,” he seemed excited.
“Gahh!”
Just as I was thinking that, he ran off at full speed.
I had to chase after it.
Then I saw him around the corner.
“You’re eating something.”
When I looked, I saw that Gamizin had a piece of meat in his mouth that looked like a demon.
“Barbados, what is Gamizin saying?”
“Well, he says he saw a tasty looking demon, so he ate it.”
“I see…….”
I’m not sure if it’s okay if the meat is from a demon or not.
“Then we won’t be able to recover the materials.”
It seemed that Gamizin had eaten even the demon stones, which were the most expensive of all the demon materials, and there were no parts left that could be sold as materials.
“Gahhh!”
I thought it barked, but it ran off again.
As I chased after him, I encountered him eating a demon again. This time, he seemed to have eaten the entire demon stone again, and I couldn’t collect any materials.
“Gahh!”
When he finished eating, he would run off again, looking for other demons.
Even after that, when Gamizin finished eating a demon, he would run to the next demon’s location and eat the entire demon stone.
Gamizin’s stomach is infinitely expanding, and he shows no signs of slowing down.
“I’m already at my limit…….”
When I turned around, I saw Barbados lying on the floor saying that.
It’s true that we’ve been chasing Gamizin all day, so it’s understandable that we’re exhausted. To be honest, I’ve reached the point where I can’t even breathe on my shoulders.
“Barbados, can you order Gamizin to listen to me?”
“Okay, I understand. I hope he will listen to me properly…….”
Barbados, with a worried expression on her face, started to talk to Gamizin.
“What’s he saying?”
“He wants to eat more meat.”
Apparently, Gamizin is only interested in meat.
However, it’s easy to see that he has a clear desire to eat meat.
“Orobas, may I ask you to do a little errand for me?”
“I’m willing to do whatever the Master commands!”
“It’s not like it’s anything to get excited about.”
I want Orobas to prepare something for me.
When I finished, Orobas dashed off.
“Barbados, tell Gamizin that I’m going to feed him some good meat, so please stay here and be quiet.”
“Yes, sir.”
Gamizin seemed to have understood my good advice, and he sat down on the ground quietly. If we went further into the dungeon without waiting, it would be difficult to meet up with Orobas.
Now, all we had to do was wait for Orobas to return. I wondered if Gamizin would be patient enough to wait until then.
“Master! Sorry to keep you waiting!”
Suddenly, I saw Orobas running towards me as fast as he could.
It’s been less than five minutes. He’s so fast.
“Thank you, Orobas.”
“Wow, I never thought I’d be thanked by a master! I’m so thrilled!”
“That’s why Orobas is always exaggerating.”
After the usual exchange, I checked what Orobas had brought with him.
What am I going to do now?
Cooking, of course.
The idea is to train Gamizin to listen to me by feeding him good, properly cooked meat instead of raw meat.
◆
Ever since I was expelled from my parents’ house and started living alone, I have always cooked at home.
However, since I had never cooked before, I had to ask Orobas and Focalor to help me every time.
Thanks to them, I was now able to cook just about anything.
First, I assembled the firewood that Orobas had prepared and put the griddle plate on top of it for cooking meat.
Adventurers often cook on the road, so these tools are often sold near dungeons where many adventurers gather. That’s probably why Orobas was able to buy them so quickly.
Lighting the firewood was a simple matter of using the magic of fire.
It’s good that magic is useful not only in battle but also in daily life. I’m grateful to Aim for giving me the ability to use fire magic.
While I was preparing in this way, I asked Orobas to hunt for the demon.
I could easily imagine that if I let Gamizin go, he wouldn’t be able to resist and would eat it on the spot, so this time I’m on standby.
“Master, I’ve hunted it!”
And so, what I had in my hand was a chicken lizard called Kokadori, a monster that looks a lot like a chicken.
It’s a demon with a reputation for tasting just like a chicken.
“Garrrrr!”
The moment Gamizin saw the monster in Orobas’ hands, he seemed to lose his patience and attacked to eat the monster. However, Orobas is just as strong as Gamizin, so he successfully dodged Gamizins attack and handed over the demon to me.
“Orobas, please distract Gamizin until the food is ready.”
“Haha, yes, sir. Master!”
So, we got to work.
First, I used my knife to cut up the chicken lizard Kokadori. Luckily, since knives are a necessity for adventurers, I carried one with me from the start.
” Master, what are you cooking?”
“What I’m going to make this time is more like a chicken-style steak.”
I answered the question of Barbados, who was watching me closely from the side.
Since we were cooking in a dungeon, we couldn’t cook anything too elaborate, so we chose steak.
Now, the first thing I did was to put some oil on the griddle and then put the dismantled chicken lizard Kokadori meat on the griddle.
If the heat is too high, it will burn quickly, so adjust the heat to medium and cook slowly so that the meat is cooked all the way through.
When the surface is browned, add the seasoning.
The main seasoning is red wine. Then add the sugar, butter, and garlic.
When it’s all cooked down, put it on a plate and you’re done.
Okay, it’s ready.
“Looks good……”
Barbados, who was watching beside me, was drooling as she watched.
I think it turned out pretty well, if I do say so myself.
“Orobas, that’s enough, let him be free.”
Gamizin’s appetite seemed to have reached its limit, perhaps because of the smell, and Orobas was desperately trying to hold him back from attacking him at any moment.
As soon as he let go of his hand, Gamizin dove towards the food.
Gamidin began to eat the steak, not paying attention to his surroundings.
He finished it in a flash.
“Oh, our portion is……”
Barbados let out a whisper.
It seems that she wanted to eat it too, but Gamizin ate it all. The next time I have a chance, I’ll prepare some for you.
And when Gamizin finished eating…
“GahhGaahh!”
He let out a satisfied squeal and jumped in front of me.
He seemed to have taken a liking to me for cooking the steak, and started licking my face with his long tongue. I want him to stop, he’s so dirty.
What does Gamizin say?
‘Well, it’s the first time he’s eaten meat that has flavor, unlike raw meat. Besides, he says, the skin was browned and very crispy.”
Apparently, he was very satisfied.
“Hey, now that you’ve fed Gamizin some delicious meat, why don’t you ask him to teach you a seance?”
The reason I summoned Gamizin in the first place was to learn the art of seance. That’s why I had to dive into the dungeon like this.
“Roar.”
When Barbados tells Gamizin my words, he makes a covetous cry.
“Well, I want to eat more of the meat Master made,” he says.
Apparently, he’s not satisfied yet. I can’t help it……
“Then at least listen to me and tell him I’ll serve him meat again.”
“Okay.”
Barbados interpreted my words to him.
Then Gamizin nodded energetically, “Gah, gah!” Gamizin nodded vigorously. Apparently, he was ready to listen to me.
